This is an amazing book by Holly Webb. It’s about a girl called Polly, and a statue that can turn into a wolfhound. The wolfhound is called Rex. He is the guardian of the Penhallow Hall. There are two people that have awakened the two guard dogs of Penhallow Hall. Rex is one of them, and another one is Magnus. Polly and somebody else re-awaken them.
I liked this book because it’s full of excitement, and it even makes you start reading it just from looking at the front cover. I have been reading non-stop for two hours. This is the best book ever, and it is imperative that you read it. I think the age range is about 9 or over because there are a lot of things to understand on one page, even though there aren’t many words on one page, because the print is quite big. I hope there’s a book two, I even recommended it to my Mum! I made a video of me reading a bit of The Moonlight Statue for International Read To Me Day, and Holly Webb posted it on her website!! http://www.holly-webb.com/thank-you-toby/

AuthorMy name is Toby, and I am 10 years old. I have written letters to every country in the world - you can read about that adventure at my other website, Writing to the World. Some letters are published in a book called "Dear World, How Are You?". In order to learn more about the countries I am writing to, I am reading books, and I am reviewing them here. I also review books for LoveReading4Kids, and those reviews are on here, too. I am trying to find one book set in each country, or by an author from that country. My Mum is doing the same for grown-up books, and I am reviewing mine, and she is reviewing hers. So whether you are a child or a grown-up, you can explore the world with us :) Archives
